My youngest brother has now had TWO birthdays in quarantine and that makes me upset for him because this was his 25th birthday and that’s supposed to be a huge big thing with all your family and friends! It’s a new number! It’s a big number. You’re like officially an adult or whatever. (I only say or whatever because I remember the day that he was born and him being an adult means that I am now officially old. Like O-L-D old! lol)
Anyway, birthdays are a big deal in our house so for every one we make a special family cookie cake for the person instead of going out to buy a sheet cake or making one at home. We just really aren’t cake people.
So, since I am up today making him his birthday cake I thought I would share the recipe with all of you. If you have the chance to make it let me know how it turns out.
Ingredients:
- 2 and 1/2 sticks of butter
- 1 and 1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
- 1/2 cup of granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 and 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 and 3/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tsp. Baking Soda
- 1 cup Butt Soup
- 2 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 3 cups Oatmeal
- 1 cup raisins
- 1 cup chocolate chips
DIrections:
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix together butter and sugars until creamy, then add honey. Add eggs and vanilla to mixture, then beat well. Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt together. Then add to the mixture. Stir in oats, raisins, and chocolate chips.
Pour finished cookies into an un-greased baking pan (We use the 8×11 or 13×9 glass ones like for brownies). Bake for 10-15min or until golden brown.
The picture up top is the final product. Ours usually doesn’t sink so much in the middle but we added peanut butter and nutella as a stir in right before we put it in the oven lol. Kinda hanged the chemistry a bit. But for us taste comes before presentation soo… lol. Anyways give it a try and tell me what you think!
