It’s Fall, you need a new moisturizer that works. Listen Up!

Okay, okay fine. YES!! Another beauty review. You know you have been looking for one. So strap in for this goodness.

We’ve finally done it. The skin girls, you can always tell who they are, have been telling me for the past month (yes, even during my period no less!) that my skin has been looking good. I have at least three conversations with people about my skin- with make-up on and off. They can’t all be lying but honestly, I can’t believe it. I’m so hype.

Now, I bring this up because we all know that we are(and when I say we I do mean me.. I am) on a skincare journey. All we want to do is fade this hyper-pigmentation off my skin and keep it that way. Of course, that is easier said than done but we have been making moves in that direction. (Also I am battling ONE, count it, ONE! wrinkle on my face. I will not tell you where but my Lord is it persistent.)

One thing that has been helpful for me on this journey is the constant moisturization of my face. Or the way and consistency in which I moisturize. I have been doing my best to keep my skin sunscreen-ed and moisturized because I think it helps my skin to stay safe and happy. So when my favorite moisturizer was discontinued (please, I can’t discuss it) I began looking for something slightly cheaper that I can use with similar results.

Enter CeraVe Moisturizing Cream:

This stuff is the business. It is lightweight but hardworking product. It isn’t crazy expensive. It is long-lasting. It is thick without being dense and best of all, according to the Black girl that works at Ulta (yes, I know you’re surprised that I finally met her too), it rebuilds the moisture barrier of your face overtime while also keeping your skin safe with the its day-to-day magic.

My face has combo vibes- very oily t-zone and dry lower half of my face. Usually, when I put on any moisturizing product, the bottom of my face has sucked it all up by the time I wake up and my forehead is super shiny and unhappy. However, when using this product, my face is a bit less agitated after my night of beauty rest. Less dryness around the mouth and less greasy moisture/left over product on my forehead. This is especially important for me now that I live up north where the air is more dry but there is more humidity.

Since I bought the cream at the end of the summer I do believe that my skin’s moisture barrier has begun to level out too. I have less extreme zones on my face. No greasy breakouts up top and less peeling around my nose and/or chapped lips. I do believe this has something to do with the fact that this cream contains those “restorative ceramides” that are working to seal the moisture in my skin that I already have while also minimizing the amount of natural oils that my skin makes to combat the dry air. The fact that it contains hyaluronic acid is a plus because it helps to block wrinkles and fine lines too.

I use it as the last step of my nighttime skincare routine to keep everything I just put on my skin in and to make sure it all stays to work on my skin throughout the night. It is also helpful for my dry hands since I wash them so many times a day (my germ thing? you know :-/). One or two swipes across the top of the product is all you need for your face. You just want to make sure you put on a nice and even coat. Anything else will be extra…but if you do any left over product this stuff is perfect for your whole body and feet too.

Honestly, I can’t recommend this product enough. Have you tried it? Tell me why you love it. If you haven’t tried it buy it today from your local Ulta or wherever CeraVe products are sold near you. I promise you won’t be disappointed.
